Terms of Service
Last updated: July 9, 2026
These are the terms for renting bikes, booking tours, and using repair services from BikeTirana. We wrote them in plain language on purpose. The short version: we want you on a bike, we refund generously, and we don’t hide anything in fine print.
1. Who we are
- Business: BikeTirana, operated by [TO CONFIRM: registered legal name] ([TO CONFIRM: NIPT/NUIS number])
- Address: Rruga Qemal Stafa (8RJG+73W), New Bazaar (Pazari i Ri), Tirana, Albania
- Phone / WhatsApp: +355 69 280 8181
- Email: biketirana@gmail.com
- Open: daily, 09:30 to 19:30
We operate under Albanian law, including Law No. 9902/2008 “On Consumer Protection”, Law No. 10128/2009 “On Electronic Commerce”, and Law No. 93/2015 “On Tourism”.
Tours and rentals are for adults, 18 and over, unless a parent or legal guardian is with you.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you book directly with us: through our Bokun checkout, on WhatsApp, by email, or in the shop.
If you book through GetYourGuide, Viator, or Tripadvisor, your contract runs through their platform. Their booking, payment, and cancellation terms apply at checkout, and refunds are processed by them. We will always help you with a platform booking, but the platform’s process governs it.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are in euro and include applicable taxes.
- Tours from €25 per person. Rentals from €5. Repairs from €5. Current prices are always on the relevant page and at checkout.
- Payment: card via our Bokun checkout, or cash at the shop. Card payment in person may also be available, ask when you book.
- No hidden fees. Booking direct adds no service fee.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Albanian consumer law (Article 37/8 of Law No. 9902/2008, mirroring EU rules) does not give a withdrawal right for leisure services booked for a specific date. We go further than the law requires:
- Tours: cancel up to 24 hours before departure and get a full refund, no questions asked. Cancel later, or miss the start, and we will first try to move you to another departure for free before we talk about money.
- Rentals: cancel up to 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Closer than that, message us: we can usually move your rental to another day. And if the bike isn’t right for you once you’re riding, come back and we swap it for a different one, free.
- Weather: if we cancel a tour for weather or safety, you choose a full refund or a new departure.
- If we cancel for any reason: full refund, always.
- Refunds go back the way you paid, within 14 days at the latest, usually much faster. Platform bookings are refunded through the platform.
5. Tours
- Arrive 10 minutes before departure for bike fitting.
- Follow the guide’s instructions and Albanian traffic rules during the ride.
- Tell us in advance about anything that could affect your ride: health conditions, riding ability, or a nervous rider in your group. We adapt, that’s the job.
- Tours are 18+, unless a parent or legal guardian rides with you.
- We may adjust routes for traffic, weather, or events. You get the advertised duration and highlights, or the closest safe version of them.
6. Rentals
- You get a fitted, freshly checked bike with lock, lights, bell, and mudguards. Helmets and safety vests are free on request.
- Renters are 18+, unless a parent or legal guardian is with you.
- Bring photo ID. We photograph it for your rental record. E-bike rentals also take a deposit, by card or cash, returned with the bike.
- Keep the bike locked when parked. Use the lock we give you.
- Normal wear is our problem, not yours. Flat tire? Call us: +355 69 280 8181.
- Damage from misuse or negligence: repairs charged at cost.
- A lost or stolen bike is charged at replacement value: €400 for a city bike, €1,200 for an e-bike. Keep it locked and this number never comes up.
- Return by 19:30 on your last rental day. A late return rolls into the next day’s rate unless we agreed otherwise.
- Don’t lend the bike to someone else. The rental is yours.
7. Safety and liability
Cycling in a city has inherent risks: traffic, road surfaces, weather, other people’s mistakes. By riding, you accept these ordinary risks and agree to ride carefully, follow traffic rules, and use the equipment as intended.
We carry third-party liability insurance covering damage to other parties.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own acts or omissions, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Albanian law (Article 27(4) of Law No. 9902/2008). Beyond that, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We recommend travel insurance that covers cycling. It’s cheap, and it makes every holiday problem smaller.
8. Your legal rights
These terms never reduce your mandatory rights under Albanian consumer law. If you booked from the EU or UK, any stronger protections you have at home stay yours too.
Complaints: talk to us first, in the shop, on WhatsApp, or at biketirana@gmail.com. We fix things fast. Still unhappy? You can contact the Consumer Protection Commission in Albania.
9. Website
The site is informational. We keep prices, hours, and route descriptions accurate; if a page and the checkout ever disagree, the checkout price is the binding one. Site content is covered by our Copyright Notice and Disclaimer.
10. Governing law
Albanian law governs these terms, and disputes go to the courts of Tirana. One important exception: if you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or anywhere with mandatory consumer protections, this choice of law does not take those protections away from you, and where your home rules let you bring a claim in your own courts, that right stays yours. In practice, we intend to solve any problem on WhatsApp long before anyone reads this section.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. Changes never apply retroactively to a booking you already made.
